Terra del Carmine: a new Name, the same Soul

April 21, 2026

A New Name. Nothing Else Has Changed.

Long-standing guests will know this estate as Chiesa del Carmine. The name has changed. The philosophy has not.

Terra del Carmine is the natural evolution of what this place has always been: a commitment to organic farming, to biodiversity, to authenticity, and to the kind of slow, patient work that good land demands. The new name reflects a broader vision — and a new digital home at www.terradelcarmine.com — but the values that have guided this estate since 2006 remain exactly where they have always been.A New Portal for a Richer Experience

The estate produces seven organic wines — among them Il Campanile, Indigeno Trebbiano, Rosso del Carmine, and Oro del Carmine — each one a distinct expression of the valley’s mineral-rich soils and plentiful Umbrian sunlight. The vineyards are close-planted, unirrigated, and farmed entirely without synthetic inputs. The result is wines of real character: concentrated, layered, and increasingly recognised on the international stage.

The olive oil tells a similar story. Approximately 1,100 trees — Frantoio, Leccino, Moraiolo, Dolce Agogia, and Pendolino — produce an extra-virgin oil of exceptional freshness: green in colour, fruity in aroma, with a clean, slightly spicy finish and the quiet hint of walnut that defines the best oils of this region. Harvested in November and cold-pressed within 24 hours, it is the kind of oil that needs nothing more than good bread.

And then there is the kitchen.

Terra del Carmine’s chef works with the estate’s own produce and the finest ingredients sourced from the surrounding land — a true expression of km zero cooking, where the distance between field and plate is measured in footsteps, not miles. The menu changes with the seasons, as it should, and every dish is designed to sit naturally alongside the estate’s own wines.

There are places that take time to understand. Terra del Carmine is one of them.

Tucked into a protected valley at the foot of Monte Tezio, twenty minutes north of Perugia and close to the Tuscan border, this organic estate is not easily described in a sentence. It is a working farm and a place of beauty. It is a producer of wines and olive oil of genuine quality. It is a kitchen that serves food grown within walking distance of the table. And it is, above all, a landscape — ancient, generous, and entirely undisturbed.

Terra del Carmine is a full day of Italian life — from forest to table, from vine to glass. It is a place that rewards those who take the time to arrive.

We look forward to welcoming you.
